Time Management Tips
- Be Proactive not Re-active.
- Organize tomorrow tonight.
- 5 Minutes of planning and disciplined work all day
Time Management is essential to your success. In order to accomplish your goals, you must refer to them constantly and then TAKE ACTION.
- Put every "To Do" you have on your Task List. This will become your Master List of Tasks.
- Each night refer to your task list and choose no more than 6 activities. Less is OK if the Tasks are time consuming. If you have Appointments or Meetings scheduled, count that as 1 activity. Example: Phone Appointment for Step 2 and 3 or Calling Leads for 2 hours would count as 1 activity each. Write them on a piece of paper.
- Assign a time for each activity. 15 minutes, 2 hours etc.. If an activity is large, assign a chunk of time for moving that activity forward.
- Put a Priority number from 1 to 6 in front of each Task.
- Add Task 8 as Check Email (schedule email checking as an appointment, check it no more than 3 times a day unless you are retrieving something specific.
- Don't change the schedule without good reason. A prospect calling back to sign up would be a good reason.
- Make sure you allow for interruptions; assign no more than 70% of your time to your 7 Tasks. (6 including Check Email
- Block time in tomorrow's schedule for each Task as an Appointment. Example: 8 AM Morning Email: 30 minutes.
- Start with Priority #1 and proceed through the day. Make sure to do highest priority items first!
- Stick to your daily plan and don't change without good reason. A Prospect calling to sign up would be a good reason! You have 30% of your day to handle the unexpected.
