10 STEPS TO GET INDIVIDUALS PROMOTING YOUR INTERNETMULTI-AFFILIATE OR NETWORK MARKETING COMPANY ONLINE

 

Example 1 simple step:

Simple step one begin by teaching your people to write their email signature (internet slang = sig file) which will be your signoff on every email or post. It should contain a contact information (web site link and affiliate code), company name and a short benefit line. You will need to help people when they start to tell them how to do this. Note: This is why I consider a distributor/affiliate message board on your web site so important. Your posting community can come in and help by giving the details on a specific browser or email program. You do not have to carry the weight all yourself. By helping others (even not in their downline) you build a sense of community and friendship. A powerful tool! End of lecture.


Example 2 simple step:

Create a series of informative, standard email messages that your distributors can use. This should be in the tool box section of your web site. 10 different messages that people can select from will give them a faster start. Tell them they can change it and personalize it to fit their needs. As your group grows encourage distributor /affiliates to send it their successful ones (offer a prize, reward or recognition). Why do you need to do this? Because only one out of 17 people you sign up will be able to write a decent message. True statistic! The email messages should tell new prospects why they should buy or join your company. What's in it for the receiver of the message. You have to have a killer header line (top of the Email message) followed by the benefits of your company and opportunity. You should have two different types one for outbound and another type to reply to email questions from prospects. In your electronic disks included with this book I pound that subjects to death. Heed Them!

 

Example 3 simple step:

Create (and test) 10 Pure Killer Ads to be posted on classified boards or anyplace else allowed. Develop good ones. Can I give you specific details. No, because every company and product is different. Remember I said it takes hours to develop. See the ad copy information and instruction on the disks with the manual. Remember, benefits sell, features smell!! Burn that in your forehead! Stink = pay plan details and company information. Sell = better health/more money. There are over 1000 sites on the Internet to post free classified ads. Come up with killer ads and a system for helping your distributors post them and you are on the way. On most free classified sites the ads must be posted 2-3 times a day to "stay" on top of the listed ads. There is some software that does automatic posting. The problem is that the free classifieds get their money from traffic (people) coming to the site seeing their ads they get paid for. They don't want automatic postings! If you do get one of these "posting" softwares (see the Internet Power Pack - "tool box" electronic marketing disk) it will probably be outdated in days. The best way is for your affiliate/distributors to book mark the best ad places (which as leader you should hunt down) for your company and product. They should "book mark" them in their browser. They should hit the ad site directly - paste out of their browser and be gone! A good "hammer/slammer" can do over a 1000 posts a day! Now realize that this will generate a lot of marketing (reversal messages) back to the poster. The game within game is that those names need to saved as an opt-in email list of people who "gave permission" to be put on that list. The sales messages to them have to be good though!

 

Example of simple step 4:

Spamming (sending unsolicited commercial email) is no longer acceptable on the internet. In the example we just gave above people by emailing your distributors with their offer asked for a reply. The one your affiliates are going to give them is not going to be the one they asked for! It is going to be a killer sales reversal message with an offer they can't refuse. Remember the "Matra" of the web - FREE! Your affiliate distributors should be collecting every name they can to their address books to be able to send out a different offer every other week! If they are the common member of the masses they shouldn't send out over 100-300 at a time through their ISP (Internet Service Provider) or they may get terminated. They should sign up for free mailboxes at different locations. Why? So they can find out which emails solicitations work best and keep ads and FFAs separate (eample).

 

Example of simple step 5:

FFA links (Free For All links) to advertise their web site. These generate a tremendous amount of spam to you as the messages about your site are posted. This is great! This is why each of your distributors should have their own small web site. They sign into an FFA site and it fires out hundreds of messages announcing their web site. They should have at least 5 mail boxes with their website. Each can collect these messages to send marketing messages back to the email addresses. High productivity? No, but there is reward in numbers! People that send you commercial email also are giving you permission to send them email back! Auto responders are a great tool with some FFA systems, see the autoresponder section that comes below. If you can get away with it use them! This is where part of the power comes in from you having as many affiliate distributors with their own web sites. You can have literally thousands of distributors out there directing traffic to their site, which in turn feeds your site! Remember Permission marketing is your goal!


Example of simple step 6:

You have to be the leader in finding FREE things for your distributors to use in their advertising, emails and web sites. Electronic FREE things are good starters. Give serious thought to buying books hard copy and having the persons sign in to get the FREEBIE so that you not only get their Email but their home address and phone. Why? If you run an ad in a magazine or tabloid advertising your cost per lead is going to be $5-10@. If you create a system so you can get a mailing lead for $5 or less this is a good ratio! If you have (and I hope you do) offline distributors set up a mailing system to recruit or sell them product! In the Internet Power Pack - tool box one I give you several sources to get free marketing items. Internet Marketing Warriors site and Classified Club will bog you down for a day or two while you ponder what to use! There are other sites out there.


Example of simple step 7:

Let me throw in here, "about autoresponders." This is the Internet equivalent of a fax on demand. Many web sites come with one shot auto responders which are great. The real power in "follow up" is in the "Staged auto responders" that can send out 7-10 messages spaced a day or a week.! There are not many of these (They are listed on Internet Power Pack - Tool Box #1) but they are powerful! If your are getting a 1% response to your messages using the staged auto-responders will most likely push it up to 3-5%! There is power in repetition. Don't try to bounce return messages off FFA links to one of these. They will terminate you! You have to collect your raw list, email it, get responses (or none which is also good), "clean" (take out protesters and hate mail) then simply email the cleaned list to your repetitive autoresponders. Once again the heat is on you to provide your distributors with good messages to put on their autoresponders because most of them can't write squat.

 

Example simple step 8:

If yu have gone through the previous steps you are now ready to spend some money! Opt in email blasters charge 20-30 cents per message sent. Opt in means they have permission to send email to their list of names. You need a hot promotion, a free drawing, or a killer contest! A good place to research for ad copy is to see what people are sending on opt in email that are paying for it. Hint: there are some listed on your disks. It is higher quality ad copy than normal Spam. Look at their offers and their premiums. This is an option to consider only after you have gone through all the previous steps and gotten the best response from your best ad with the best offer possible. You should be able to send your email to names gathered from people who sent you mail as a response to your classified or FFA messages and GET A 5% response! If you don't do the testing prior and have a killer offer the opt in email will be a waste! Flat Email Blasting is a great way to collect hate mail and get your ISP shut off. There are a few old pros that are still doing it in small shots. Unless you have become an true expert, don't even think of it! If you do want to be prepared to live in the land of throwaway ISP's and hundreds of email accounts coupled with some blow away duplicated web sites. The anti-Spammers have a glory bunch of hackers and frackers amongst them so it takes a fast moving high tech web savvy "dude" (or dudess) to stay ahead of them. The days when we could slam 40,000 people into a nutrition company in six months are over. They were great days and exciting but they are gone. The results are lower and the maintenance level is very high.


Example simple step 9:

Advertising in e-zines (on-line magazines) can be effective, when you get them targeted. How do you target them? You purify your ad to get a high response through the classified ads and FFAs just like we did above! You spend money testing them to see what ad works best in what zine. Collect interesting information for the industry or your products that might be interesting to e-zine owners/editors and let your distributors submit that as an article to the e-zine(s). Usually because they submitted the article they get to run an ad after the article. Not only does this help your growth but it bonds your distributors to you because you are providing them with information to make them successful! Do you think that they will leave you with this type of leadership?

 

Example simple step 10:

Discussion groups and chat rooms are probably the best places for your affiliate distributors to make sales contacts. The rule is that friends buy from friends and acquaintances. Before pitching your product or opportunity to any targeted discussion group you must first start a relationship based on trust or respect. Barging into an online discussion group and posting a message about your super product or company will get you flamed (online cursed out!). These folks are on there to socialize, exchange information, research and the last thing they want is a sales pitch! When you do this you violate the rules of Internet etiquette (Netiquette). Creating online relationships takes time. Scout out and help your affiliate distributors look for message boards that will be productive and interesting. Research information related to your product, our industry, or general information that may be interesting to your distributors and et tu ergo the online groups they may be posting in. Contributing information is a sure way to success in a discussion group. Remember that Sig File (signature file) that we talked about at the beginnging of this march to success? You people should never make a post without it! These are free advertising and normally (not all places) accepted in discussion groups. The sig file should encourage people to email your distributors or link directly into their site or yours with an affiliate code. If your distributors are contributing useful information to online newsgroups they will make friends. Supply them with information! I run one of the most active discussion boards on the Internet (The Multi-Level Marketing WatchDog on AOL) we may run a 1000 posts a week. A good hard working person that brings in useful information or makes good analytical comments can get away with murder as far as promoting their agenda. A once timer that pops in and posts and ad is dead! We will gang up and make sure he gets a 1000 flames a day for a week. The problem you will have with your affiliate distributors is getting them to post! AOL did a study on my board for me one time. For ever person that posted there were 50 lurkers (a lurker looks but doesn't post)! Some of your affiliate distributors could have been productive recruiters for you if they had just jumped in and done two intelligent posts a week! You have to push them to post in these groups. If you collect information for them to use and send it out in your newsletters with instructions to use it in posting you have just increased your affiliate distributor usefulness tenfold!
I have gone on too long about this let me leave you with one thought. Every other procedure on this board will bring in people by one and two's. I have seen people make friends in newsgroups and end up with thousands of affiliate distributors just because they were helpful and made one friend.


Example simple step 10:

Newsletters are an essential part of your strategy. They should be short and they should be weekly. You can give sales information, information for them to use on the web, hot new tested ads, words of encouragement, sales training, new web sources for producing distributors, and industry information to benefit them (such and such a company failed look for their distributors). This bonds the distributors closer to you. Remember to include offline recruiting tips and ads too! What ads your online folks can have their offline distributors run to drive traffic to their online web sites, etc.
