The Multiplier Effect
Creating success in networking is contingent upon our ability to duplicate ourselves and leverage our own efforts through the efforts of others. The challenge everyone faces when starting, however, is that everything in this business is brand new to us. We have no experience, very little knowledge, and no compelling story of our own success to use in recruiting others. All we have is our enthusiasm and determination to work and learn. Thus, if you were to rate your effectiveness on Day 1 of your new business on a scale of 1 to 10, you would probably have to admit that you start as a 1.
Moreover, when you multiply your efforts with the other new people you recruit (they are 1s too) what do you get? 1 x 1 x 1 x 1 = 1 It will take a long time to get anywhere at that rate.
How does one overcome this problem? Study the training systems and use your upline! Even if your immediate upline is very new to the business they are at least a 2 because they have the success of sponsoring you and the strength of the recospect you both bring to the table. While it may not seem like much, 1 x 2 is better than 1 x 1. Maybe your next upline is an executive and rates a 5. By working together, the three of you generate 1 x 2 x 5 = 10. It is easy to see how the multiplier effect is of benefit to all. This is the environment most conducive to the development of your own skills and success over time. You develop your abilities and skills and go from being just 1 to being a 2, 3, 4 or 10 depending on experience, knowledge, enthusiasm and financial success.
As you increase your abilities and the abilities of those in your network, success starts to get exciting. For example, lets say that you get some knowledge, experience and productivity in the business and move your effective rate up to a 5, your sponsor earns another 5 and the upline exec has become an 8. 5 x 5 x 8 = 200 !!!. The Deborah.nu system used properly can further accelerate your learning curve and through conference calls and meetings gives you access to the experience of the "10s" in the business.
The multiplier effect can work against you. Do not waste time with people who want you do it all for them. By investing time in someone who is not putting any effort into the business, you literally jump into a black hole that absorbs your energy and your time. If an individual is not committed, their effective rate is 0. Even if you are a ten, 10 x 0 = 0. Spend your time wisely. Find people, who are willing to make the effort, use Deborah.nu as a multiplier and guide them all the way to success.
Although you hear stories of some people joining the business and rising to success very rapidly, for most of us success takes time. For us, productivity increases are not achieved by dramatic technology advances or the Herculean efforts of a few key individuals; rather (and this is surprising to many people) in our business tiny increments compounding over time lead to the biggest successes. For the multiplier effect to work at its best, stick to the basics, stick to the Deborah.nu system and stick with your people.
